Maths Homework

Children will be given weekly maths homework to complete, linked to their learning that week in class. 

Children are also set maths tasks to complete on 'My Maths' regularly. Please ask your child to notify their teacher if they have lost/forgotten their login details. 

Times Tables Challenge

Each week, the children are tested on the times table challenges that they have been working on for homework during the week. Each test is timed (3 minutes) and children cannot progress on to the next level until they have completed their current level correctly and within the time set.

Year 4 Multiplication Check

The Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) is a key stage 2 assessment to be taken by pupils at the end of year 4 from the 2019 / 2020 academic year onwards. The purpose of the MTC is to make sure the times tables knowledge is at the expected level.

This will be an online assessment so children are urged to practice their times tables both orally and online to ensure speed and accuracy. This will a main focus in Year 4.
