Literacy Homework

Your child will be set a weekly literacy activity. This will be either a grammar based or a comprehension task. In addition to this, they will also be given weekly spellings to learn and fortnightly handwriting practice. 

We ask that the work is stuck into the homework book, unless otherwise stated and that it is completed as independently as possible in pencil.

How you can help at home...

• Read to your child.
• Listen to your child read daily.
• Comment to let us know how your child is getting along.
• Encourage your child to have their homework completed using correct handwriting (as independently as possible).
• Spellings – Look, cover, write, check.
• Encourage reading for pleasure
