Maths

 

Your child will be set My Maths homework weekly. Please make sure they login and complete the tasks that have been set. 

How to help your child at home

 

Talk about Maths – give your child opportunities to reason and explain why in relation to number problems.

My Maths – you child should have a login

Applying maths into everyday life (paying in the shops, baking etc)

Writing the numerals - number formation and spelling of number names.

Get children into habit of telling the time and knowing the time events happen throughout day.

Discuss important dates; make days of the week/month of year charts.

Maths National Curriculum Key Stage 1

By the end of Year 2, children are expected to know their 2, 3, 5, & 10 times tables off by heart. If your child is secure in these already, please encourage them to learn the others.

 

Children will be tested every week. If they get all the answers correct they will move up to the next level. Please support your child in learning their times tables.
