In maths, we follow the White Rose scheme of learning where children practise their fluency, problem solving and reasoning skills through a range of concrete, pictorial and abstract resources. In the autumn term, children will be learning about place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division. We have attached parent booklets below which you can use at home to consolidate your child's learning.
Children will be given weekly maths homework to complete, linked to their learning that week in class.
Children are also set maths tasks to complete on 'My Maths' regularly. Please ask your child to notify their teacher if they have lost/forgotten their login details.
Times Tables Challenge
Each week, the children are tested on the times table challenges that they have been working on for homework during the week. Each test is timed (3 minutes) and children cannot progress on to the next level until they have completed their current level correctly and within the time set. Copies of the Times Table Challenge sheets can be downloaded and printed through the Maths page of the website.
