Happy New Year and welcome back!
We hope that you all had a fantastic break. The children have only been back a few days and yet they have learnt so much already. They have revised lots from last term and are already learning lots of new and some tricky concepts such as long division and use of expanded noun phrases.
This term promises to be an exciting and fun time for the children with lots of engaging learning opportunities. We have a trip coming up to Chiswick House and Garden around half term where the children will be completing garden detective trails, learning about pollination and composting. The three classes will be going on separate days so please keep an eye out for further dates and details in school bags and in the newsletter.
3B and 3V have their class assemblies to look forward to in the coming weeks and we hope to see as many of you as possible at these fantastic displays of the children's work. A reminder that parents are invited to our whole school Achievement Assemblies on Friday afternoons at 2:45 pm in the school hall. Children receiving certificates are always excited to see their parents attending for their moment of glory.
As the children are now in Key Stage two, there is an additional expectation that they are able to work more independently to remember their homework tasks. Homework is set each Wednesday and should be returned to school the following Monday. Where possible, the children should complete these tasks on their own to develop their own sense of responsibility, taking a great a great pride in their work.
At Holy Family we do our best for the glory of God.
