Literacy

This term we are reading 'The Snail and the Whale' by Julia Donaldson and 'The Lonely Beast' by Chris Judge.

How you can help your child at home:

Read to your child.

Listen to your child read.

Comment and question your child.

Homework completed using correct handwriting (as independently as possible).

Spellings – Look, cover, write, check.

Encourage reading for pleasure

Please ensure you read every day with your child and sign the reading record. Books will be changed once per week. Children’s books must be in school everyday. When the teacher assesses that the level has been achieved the child will progress to the next level.
