Design your own Coat of Arms
This weeks art activity will encourage you to express yourself in a visual way. Your task is to design your very own coat of arms.
A coat of arms is the symbol or badge of a family, person or even organisation. Designs on a coat of arms symbolise the achievements of families passed on from generation to generation. A coat of arms is still put together by people called heralds, and the process is known as heraldry.
A coat of arms may consist of animals, objects, symbols and statements conveying a particular message or meaning. Even the colours are representative of qualities such as loyalty and hope.
We'd like you to take inspiration from the Tudors to design your very own coat of arms that is representative of YOU! You might include your name, hobbies and interests, personal qualities and symbolic creatures to create a visual expression of yourself.
As always, send your designs through to Year5@holyfamily.ealing.sch.uk
